HPV is most common cause about 90% of the Cervical Cancer, However not all HPV infection lead to Cancer other cause warts on genitalia and skin. Human Papillomavirus type 16 and 18 are leading causes of Cervical Cancer followed by  HPV type 31 and 45. There are more than 100 type of HPV infections worldwide. Infection of HPV are transmitted through sexual contacts or skin to skin contact.

Other Risk Factors that may lead to Cervical Cancer are: 
  1. Smoking
  2. Long use of Contraceptive pills (birth control pills)
  3. Multiple sexual partners
  4. Multiple pregnancy
  5. HIV/AIDS infection other other chronic infections
  6. Sexual activities at young age

SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS OF CERVICAL CANCER

In early stages of Cervical Cancer there is no or rare symptoms and signs, Symptoms may develop when the cancer start to invade other surrounding tissues. In later stages of Cervical cancer there are obvious symptoms such as:

                - After sex
                - Between menstrual periods
                - After menopause
